My Go-To Color

You may notice all of my posts come from inspiration (people-mostly) and, naturally... a story. To spare you from a long boring one, I will share my inspiration for this post was my favorite go-to color, that stands strong in all seasons, fabrics, colors, and accessories--yes, ladies, HOT PINK.

Polka Dot Blouse here for $10 // Sweater H&M for $5 // Purse here (a steal at $15) // Denim here // Earring Target on sale for $10 // Boots from Maurices-old similar here //

PINK-my go to color. Why? For obvious reasons, it's eye catching and fun, since it has this girly flare, but it can sexy and timeless too. So, let's talk about colors....

We must admit that each season holds a palette of colors, trendy colors. How can you tell? Try shopping--look at the mannequins in the store windows, you will see they all have something in common, and it's typically their color. Paying attention to these details helps your wardrobe stay trendy.

Now, there are only SO many colors in the rainbow. Changing the shade or tone of each color is key. Green, for example, is always in fashion. Right now, in January, Emerald Green is stunning. But, as the snow melts and flowers blossom, you will see a shift from Emerald to Mint. Like all rules, there are exceptions. Classic black and white, neon colors, and neutrals always have the go ahead! It's hard to think of a color I would absolutely steer clear of {if it was the right look, you can style anything}

I am more cautious about fabrics than colors, if I score a coral wool sweater that I love, it's clearly made for a winter/fall look. When styled, I will be sure to add some heavy colors and throw on a pair of boots--voila! I'm Polished for winter :)

Thanks for stopping by and reading!! Let me know what you think!

FAUX FUR

Turtleneck JCrew (on sale) // Sweater here // Fur Vest is a vintage find but check these out-loving this and this // Jeans here // Necklace from Francesca's similar here or here //Bracelets Chain and Bangles from Old Navy (only available in store-but go for a visit your wallet will thank you)  // Earrings Target // Boots here **sale** //
Bag HM for $7 try this or this or with a bow here  //

Remember my love affair with all things warm? Well, a faux fur vest is a favorite go-to piece in for me. I could never provide a list of staple items YOU MUST have within your closet (queue white button down and trench coat), all I can do is share what are MY closet staples, both classic and trendy, and a fur vest definitely makes the cut.

Versatility? Oh yes... more than I ever imagined. Here, I needed another layer over a chunky sweater, but, I once threw it over a black turtleneck sweater dress and knee high boots (hmm... maybe I need to post that one) or throw a belt around it to cinch your waist. For me, it is one of those trends that you purchase and play with--you will be surprised! Doesn't this chic look beat the classic bubble vests?!

Now, an ode to the sparkley chain link bracelet. I have been seeing this beauty all of the blogs, and in most links they are sold out. So, in true frugal fashion manner, I browsed the jewelry section at the most magical place in the world {NO, I don't mean Disney World} ... TARGET. Of course, they had a version of this trendy arm candy and, more impressively, it was about $5 cheaper than some online boutiques I was stalking {and I didn't have to wait for the UPS man}, making this purchase even more exciting! Ever feel a high off a good bargain?

Is anyone else loving/hating this faux fur trend? Hesitations? Share them here!
